Roar-some third birthday celebrations at The Gincase

We now have a 3 year old! I know its a cliche but where oh where has the time gone. It’s been a couple of months since Clara’s birthday, but we moved house a few weeks ago so blogging has taken a back seat in favour of packing, unpacking, cleaning and DIY! However I really wanted to share some photos from her big day, as she is still talking about it now.

She celebrated her birthday in true Clara style – with a dinosaur themed party. It was her best friend Rosie’s 2nd birthday a few days after Clara turned 3, so they had a joint party at The Gincase, a farm park in Cumbria. They had a dinosaur cake, invitations, party bags and even matching dinosaur outfits!

Our Weekly Roundup #29

Welcome to 2017! A new year and a new start. Have you made any resolutions this year? You can read all about ours here.

  • We celebrated New Year’s Eve probably the same way as millions of other parents around the world – by falling asleep on the sofa before midnight after a couple of glasses of champagne. I woke up for the fireworks but could barely keep my eyes open. We did make it out for a meal just the two of us the night before though, but even then we were home for 10pm!dsc_0982
  • The big news this week is that we now have a 6 year old. How on earth did that happen? Izzy celebrated her birthday on the same day that school started back, but we did go out for tea afterwards – Italian so she could have her favourite meal, Spaghetti!  I was mortified though when her Star Wars balloon came loose and floated up to the very high ceiling – the waitress brought out a large set of ladders and proceeded to balance precariously on the top while trying to reach the balloon with a pair of ice tongs. All in order to reunite Izzy with her birthday balloon. That’s some customer service! (more…)

Our Weekly Roundup #15: Happy 2nd Birthday Clara

DSC_0824This week Clara turned 2. She’s been talking about her birthday for the past couple of weeks, telling everyone what cake she was having and singing happy birthday to herself randomly!

Izzy was at school on Clara’s birthday so Hubby took the day off and we made the most of some rare time just the 3 of us. We took Clara swimming, and then to pick her birthday balloon. She chose a massive Minnie Mouse balloon which then had to come all round town with us. We had babycino treats at Costa before picking Izzy up for the school Spring fayre. Later we all went for tea together and before bed the 2 girls were running around dressed as Neverland fairies playing in a new princess tent. Clara was over the moon with the celebrations and Izzy was really proud and telling everyone that it was her little sister’s birthday.

Our Weekly Roundup #12

This week we have mainly been enjoying some sun, celebrating the royals and drinking mojitos…

  • Izzy was very excited to celebrate the Queen’s birthday this week. She got to wear a party dress to school yesterday and they played games and had party food. She told everyone she met including 3 of our neighbours and her dance teacher that “The Queen is 90 you know!” Last week she was telling me how she was going to marry Prince George, but this week she has changed her mind and has now decided that Clara should marry Prince George, as he is a bit young for Izzy. Instead she is going to find a 5 year old prince from another country. But of course she will have to learn the language first.  She’s really put a lot of thought into this!

Our Weekly Roundup #1

Birthday Girl

This week we have mainly been celebrating Izzy’s 5th birthday. She had a tea party with family, complete with a Ninjago cake, and then at the weekend had a party at the soft play with her friends. She continued the Lego theme with a Unikitty cake and wore her new Lego Movie t shirt. She was very lucky and got loads of lovely presents – including lots of new princess dresses! She kept saying ‘I can’t believe I am 5… 5 Mummy!”
