Clara has had her first ever haircut. Some of you may remember a few weeks ago I wrote a post about how our youngest daughter pulls her hair out. We managed to find a solution to stop her pulling in the evenings and she had stopped pulling quite so much during the day, but her hair was a mess.
Her hair on one side had grown quite long, while the other side was short and wispy. She looked like she was sporting some crazy asymmetrical mullet. Plus the side that she previously didn’t pull was growing so long she could then reach it with her non thumb sucking hand and started to pull that out too.
So we made the decision to cut her hair. Even as I walked into the hairdresser’s I wasn’t sure if it was the right thing to do. Even as the blonde locks were tumbling to the floor I wondered if I’d been too hasty. But as soon as the hairdresser finished and Clara was sat there with a big grin on her face and a cute new ‘do’, I was relieved.
She looks so cute and it’s much neater. She was amazing in the hairdressers. I wasn’t sure how it would go – I expected tears or at least some apprehension. Confident, chatty, and smiley, she sat on my knee and wasn’t phased at all. She was just really proud to show off her new do!
And I’m proud of her. My beautiful, smiley girl.
