2018

2018 was another big year for us. Every year I set out a long list of resolutions most of which I never fulfil. But my biggest hope for 2018 was that we would be lucky enough to add a third child to our family. And sure enough, on the 9th January we found out I was pregnant. So the first part of the year was spent feeling delighted but very sick, the middle part hugely pregnant and the latter part of the year very much in love with baby Josie, who joined us in September.

Happy 2018!

Well we are a couple of weeks in to 2018, and how many New Year’s Resolutions have you broken already? I’ve set several ‘resolutions’ for the year, including getting more sleep and moving more (the FitBit I got for Christmas will help with monitoring those goals), as well as a list of things that I’m planning on doing this year, or would like to do. Such as going to see Wicked at the theatre (for the 3rd time), building a Lego Marvel Helicarrier (already started), doing the Highway Rat trail with the kids at Whinlatter (we did this last weekend) and writing a book. So a mix of things that I can quite easily achieve and some slightly more ambitious projects! To be fair writing a book is on my list every year, so I’m not holding out much hope.

Our Weekly Roundup #29

Welcome to 2017! A new year and a new start. Have you made any resolutions this year? You can read all about ours here.

  • We celebrated New Year’s Eve probably the same way as millions of other parents around the world – by falling asleep on the sofa before midnight after a couple of glasses of champagne. I woke up for the fireworks but could barely keep my eyes open. We did make it out for a meal just the two of us the night before though, but even then we were home for 10pm!dsc_0982
  • The big news this week is that we now have a 6 year old. How on earth did that happen? Izzy celebrated her birthday on the same day that school started back, but we did go out for tea afterwards – Italian so she could have her favourite meal, Spaghetti!  I was mortified though when her Star Wars balloon came loose and floated up to the very high ceiling – the waitress brought out a large set of ladders and proceeded to balance precariously on the top while trying to reach the balloon with a pair of ice tongs. All in order to reunite Izzy with her birthday balloon. That’s some customer service! (more…)

Happy New Year – What does 2017 have in store?

Happy New Year everyone!

After a short blogging break over the festive period, I’m back with a bit of a round up of 2016 and a look ahead at what this year will bring. We had a lovely Christmas, the girls were both very lucky and got lots of nice things. They enjoyed putting out a mince pie for Father Christmas and leaving out their stockings – and Clara’s little face when she saw Baby Annabell and a new pram on Christmas morning!

Happy 2016!

I have been a bit quiet on the blog over the past couple of weeks. Partly due to spending some quality time with my family over Christmas, partly due to being so busy, but mainly because I’m now into my third week of a miserable cold and cough, which is zapping all my energy. But now I’m determined to get back into blogging and get out all the ideas that are swimming around my head!
