In the Night Garden Live – Save £5 on tickets to see Igglepiggle and friends!

Last year we took the girls to see In the Night Garden Live. They both loved it – and I’m pleased to be able to take them back again this year to review the show. Experience it for yourself – and save up to £5* with our discount code!

Tickets are now on sale for the world’s only live production of the popular Cbeebies show. Visiting London, Birmingham and Manchester this Summer, In the Night Garden Live is an amazing musical theatre experience for all the family. Your favourite characters are brought to life on stage using a mix of full-size costumes and puppets, to transport you to the magical world of In the Night Garden.

When we visited last year, Clara had just turned 2 and I wondered if it would be a bit much for her. However, at around an hour it was the right length to keep her interest and she was mesmerised throughout by the familiar characters. Even at 5 years old, Izzy never took her eyes off the stage and I know that she will love it just as much again this year – so it’s great for older siblings too.

According to 2016 audience surveys, 96% of parents would recommend it – it’s a great opportunity for children to get their first taste of live theatre.

The show takes place inside a purpose built inflatable showdome with family friendly facilities and there are 4 performance times to choose from each day. The show will be on the road from 25 May to 28 August at the following venues:

  • Blackheath, London, Thursday 25 May – Saturday 10 June
  • Richmond Old Deer Park, London, Saturday 17 June – Wednesday 5 July
  • Cannon Hill Park, Birmingham, Wednesday 12 July – Sunday 30 July
  • Intu Trafford Centre, Manchester, Saturday 5 August – Monday 28 August

So join Igglepiggle, Upsy Daisy and Makka Pakka this Summer and book your tickets today at www.NightGardenLive.com. Enter EARLY66H at the checkout and save up to £5* off your order.

*Coupon will take £5 off orders over £60, or 5% off orders under £60. Ts & Cs apply, please visit www.nightgardenlive.com/terms-and-conditions for more info.

Chalkola Pens Review and Giveaway

My daughters love anything arty so when we were offered the chance to review some chalk markers, we were happy to give them a try. We were sent 2 packs by Chalkola, who are also offering my readers the chance to win a set of 21 chalk markers, as well as save 15% on purchases.

Chalkola chalk markers are designed to work on blackboards, whiteboards, glass, plastic and other non-porous surfaces. We tried them out on our chalk board, which is a wooden cupboard door that we coated in blackboard paint a couple of years ago, and on a small handheld blackboard. (more…)

Ideas for Celebrating Chinese New Year with Kids

In 2017 Chinese New Year falls on Saturday 28th January, marking the beginning of the year of the Rooster. It’s a great opportunity to learn about another culture through food and crafts, so I’ve put together some ideas for how you could celebrate. In some communities in China, the celebrations last for over 2 weeks, starting with a family ‘reunion’ dinner on Chinese New Year’s Eve and fireworks to chase off evil spirits on New Year’s Day, and ending with the lantern festival on the 15th night – with plenty of other celebrations in between.1485210658781.jpg (more…)

Christmas Gift Guide: Stocking Fillers for Kids

It’s only 2 weeks to go until the big day – and those Christmas preparations are in full swing! Presents have been bought, the tree is up, the turkey is ordered and now it’s down to sorting out those finishing touches. But while the presents for under the tree may have been bought, what about stocking fillers? It was an orange and a pack of knickers when I was little, but I think my five year old would think Father Christmas had lost it if he was leaving fruit and underwear in her stocking! So instead he will be leaving a few little toys, bubbles, and some chocolate coins. If you are still looking for some inspiration, here’s a roundup of some small gifts that would be perfect to find in those stockings on Christmas morning.
