We wanted a lightweight pushchair to take on holiday with us next month and for those times when it is just a hassle using the big pram. We had a bright green Zeta Vooom Stroller for Izzy and loved it – when it didn’t survive being stored in the cold, damp garage for the past year we decided to buy a new one for Clara. This time in bright red.
Clara was being really clingy through the week and wouldn’t nap – which I now know is due to teething as two new teeth have cut through the gums in the past couple of days! I thought I would unwrap the pushchair and give it a try. Within minutes she was asleep! So now it is temporarily living in the kitchen and is my best friend at nap time. In fact, she is in there at the moment and I think she would be asleep by now if Izzy didn’t keep sticking her head in the pram.
It’s so hard being 4. Or so our daughter reminds us on an almost daily basis. When she is being a little monkey (yeah, let’s stick with monkey) and things aren’t quite going her way, she comes out with some often hilarious, sometimes heartbreaking, retorts.
I try not to take it personally. She is quite fickle and within five minutes I will be back to being the “best Mummy in the world”. Which sounds like a huge compliment, until you hear her say in the same breath that Daddy is the best “in the whole universe”! (more…)
From April 2015, working couples will be able to share up to 50 weeks of parental leave after having a baby.
The new regulations will give families more choice about how they spend the first year of their child’s life. And choice is the key word here.
It’s about not forcing families to follow a particular model and giving parents the opportunity to find a way of life that works for them. Not all families are the same, so a one-size-fits-all policy doesn’t work. (more…)
Clara is a massive fan of the Ella’s Kitchen pouches, and I never have any trouble getting her to eat them. In fact she usually finishes the entire pouch in a matter of minutes. So I was pleased when the lovely people at Ella’s Kitchen very kindly sent Clara some Stage 2 baby food to review. Her first ‘job’ at only 8 months old!
We received her favourite Spaghetti Bolognese plus the Chicken Roast Dinner, which is a product that we hadn’t tried before.
Following on from my post ‘8 reasons I’m in no rush to stop breastfeeding‘, there are also some things I’m really looking forward to once we move on to follow-on milk.
