Well we are a couple of weeks in to 2018, and how many New Year’s Resolutions have you broken already? I’ve set several ‘resolutions’ for the year, including getting more sleep and moving more (the FitBit I got for Christmas will help with monitoring those goals), as well as a list of things that I’m planning on doing this year, or would like to do. Such as going to see Wicked at the theatre (for the 3rd time), building a Lego Marvel Helicarrier (already started), doing the Highway Rat trail with the kids at Whinlatter (we did this last weekend) and writing a book. So a mix of things that I can quite easily achieve and some slightly more ambitious projects! To be fair writing a book is on my list every year, so I’m not holding out much hope.

A new year isn’t just an opportunity to look forward and plan for the future, but also the chance to reflect and look back at the highs and lows of the previous year. For us, we visited Disneyland Paris and Legoland with the kids, and even managed a child free few days in Paris. The girls continued to enjoy nursery and school; Clara started dance classes and took part in her first ever dance show on stage in December, which Izzy also took part in; and Izzy learned to ride her bike without stabilisers. I ticked a huge thing off my bucket list when I did a skydive in April – something I’ve always wanted to do and to be honest I still can’t believe I actually did it!

The biggest thing to happen in 2017 was that we moved house! We love it. We have more space, a bigger garden and most importantly Izzy and Clara have tons of new friends here, meaning lots of impromptu play dates and the odd sleepover. They sometimes talk about our old house – in particular Bob, the Christmas tree we had planted in the front garden. Apparently they really miss Bob and were quite sad that we left him behind! Clara has asked if we could plant another Bob tree in our new garden, so that’s something else on the list to do this year!

So, looking back on the blog… I had quite the break over Christmas so haven’t been keeping up with much blogging-wise, but here’s my top ten most read blog posts in 2017:
