Spring is almost here (it officially begins on the 20th March!) so what better time to give your home a makeover and put some colour into your life?
You don’t have to spend a lot of time or blow the budget on a complete overhaul – just choosing a few new items will brighten up any room. We are bringing you some ideas to inject some colour into your bedroom, in partnership with Yorkshire Linen.
We’ve already noticed the mornings and evenings getting lighter, so make the most of the sun and frame your window – and the blue skies – with some new curtains. They can really lighten up your room and change the whole look. Curtains can sometimes be a bit of an afterthought, when actually they can really bring the room together and provide a nice focal point.
I love these ones from Yorkshire Linen – the duck egg blue ones would go perfect with the colour scheme in my bedroom!
While the sun can make it a little easier to get out of bed in the morning, if you don’t want those early morning sunrises to disturb your sleep it might be worth investing in curtains with a black out lining, or blinds.
Despite the frosty morning we have been having lately, it’s soon going to get warmer, so it might soon be time to switch the heavy winter duvet for a lighter one. Pack away the warm, cosy covers and replace them with some light, crisp bedding. Nothing says Spring quite like a bold floral print, while you can’t go wrong with clean white sheets. Add a colourful throw and you are covered for those slightly chillier evening – Next have a great selection of throws for all colour schemes.
Updating your walls doesn’t need to mean getting out the overalls and paint brushes – just add a canvas print or a nice framed photo. Black and white prints look great against a bold coloured wall. We got the one pictured below from My Picture. And of course, don’t forget about those finishing touches – a vase or candle holder will look great on your windowsill, framed by your new spring curtains.
